Popular Malayalam film actor Rajan P Dev passed away today morning at a Kochi hospital, after a prolonged illness. He was 54. He was under treatment for lung disease and expired suddenly due to cardiac arrest, at Kochi Lakeshore Hospital.

Rajan P Dev was admitted to the hospital after he vomited blood on Sunday. He was diabetic too. He died at 6.30 am today morning. Funeral will be held at Karukutti on Thursday morning 11 am.

Rajan P Dev was an actor who had his own style of acting. He proved his talent in films, dramas, and as director. Rajan P Dev acted in a many comedy roles as well as Villain characters. Fazil’s ‘Ente Mamattikuttiyamma’ is his first film. Recently released ‘Pattanathil Bhootham’ is his last movie.

Rajan P Dev was also popular in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu film industries also. He owns a Drama group named Jubilee Theatres. He is survived by his wife Shanthamma, daughter Ashamma and son Jibil Raj. He was born in Cherthala on May 20, 1954 to S.J Dev and Kuttiyamma.

He had lost his vision in the left eyes in the last days. Body will be kept for public viewing at Ernakulam Town Hall today afternoon from 2 to 4pm.

Mysterious animals seem to be popping up all over the place. And not just in remote jungles or seldom-traveled tropical waters but also in the most unlikely places - like your backyard and bedroom !!!They had been allegedly appearing in such unlikely places as Harford County, Maryland and San Antonio, Texas. Rural villages of Chile and Africa also continue to be harassed by strange creatures, some of which fit the description and modus operandi of the dreaded Chupacabras. But the same has been spotted in INDIA after the appearence of the strange creature known widely as KAALA BANDAR spotted in Delhi, scientists in India are routinely discovering new species of animals.

From the reports of International Scientists Union and an exploration team they have found the strange looking creature in an ice-covered pool in the Yukon Territory of the Canada Basin is which is believed to be the world's oldest seawater and reports from them state that the creature is also likely to be found on the territorial and water front areas in Asia and particularly to the southern part of India.

In Oct-Nov of, 2006, a new species - hairy skeletonous, mouse-like mammal was discovered in the border mountains of Keral-Tamilnadu states in India. Its supposed to be the same animal found in Delhi earlier and later periods. Findings have occured in the later years in districts of Kerala - Kollam and very recently in Trivandrum.

However, when an unknown creature wanders into your backyard we must be cautious about what it is capable of as its unpredictable as to how dangerous or friendly it can turn out to be.
In July, 2004 a strange-looking dog-like creature was spotted by several residents around hillstation hotels in Kerala-Tamilnadu border, a group of students even managed to photograph the animal in a bedroom. Animal experts were unable to identify it, some saying it looked like a cross between a dog and a hyena. The image is given below

The King of Pop Passes to Next World

Michael Jackson, the "King of Pop" who once moonwalked above the music world, died on Thursday as he prepared for a comeback bid to vanquish nightmare years of sexual scandal and financial calamity. He was 50.

Jackson died at UCLA Medical Centre after being stricken at his rented home in Holmby Hills. Paramedics tried to resuscitate him at his home for nearly three-quarters of an hour, then rushed him to the hospital, where doctors continued to work on him.

"It is believed he suffered cardiac arrest in his home. However, the cause of his death is unknown until results of the autopsy are known," his brother Jermaine said.

Police said they were investigating, standard procedure in high-profile cases.

Jackson’s death brought a tragic end to a long, bizarre, sometimes farcical decline from his peak in the 1980s, when he was popular music’s premier all-around performer, a uniter of black and white music who shattered the race barrier on MTV, dominated the charts and dazzled even more on stage.

His 1982 album "Thriller" _ which included the blockbuster hits "Beat It," "Billie Jean" and "Thriller" - is the best-selling album of all time, with an estimated 50 million copies sold worldwide.

At the time of his death, Jackson was rehearsing hard for what was to be his greatest comeback: He was scheduled for an unprecedented 50 shows at a London arena, with the first set for July 13.

As word of his death spread, MTV switched its programming

to play videos from Jackson’s heyday.

Radio stations began playing marathons of his hits. Hundreds of people gathered outside the hospital. In New York’s Times Square, a low groan went up in the crowd when a screen flashed that Jackson had died, and people began relaying the news to friends by cell phone.

"No joke. King of Pop is no more. Wow," Michael Harris, 36, of New York City, read from a text message a friend had sent him. "It’s like when Kennedy was assassinated. I will always remember being in Times Square when Michael Jackson died."

The public first knew him as a boy in the late 1960s, when he was the precocious, spinning lead singer of the Jackson 5, the singing group he formed with his four older brothers o

ut of Gary, Indiana. Among their No. 1 hits were "I Want You Back," "ABC" and "I’ll Be There."

He was perhaps the most exciting performer of his generation, known for his backward-gliding moonwalk, his feverish, crotch-grabbing dance moves and his high-pitched singing, punctuated with squeals and titters. His single sequined glove, tight, military-style jacket and aviator sunglasses were trademarks, as was his ever-changing, surgically altered appearance.

"For Michael to be taken away from us so suddenly at such a young age, I just don’t have the words," said Quincy Jones, who produced "Thriller."

"He was the consummate entertainer and his contributions and legacy will be felt upon the world forever. I’ve lost my little brother today, and part of my soul has gone with him."

Jackson ranked alongside Elvis Presley and the Beatles as the biggest pop sensations of all time.

He united two of music’s biggest names when he was briefly married to Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marie, and Jackson’s death immediately evoked comparisons to that of Presley himself, who died at age 42 in 1977.

As years went by, Jackson became an increasingly freakish figure - a middle-aged man-child weirdly out of touch with grown-up life. His skin became lighter, his nose narrower, and he spoke in a breathy, girlish voice. He often wore a germ mask while travelling, kept a pet chimpanzee named Bubbles as one of his closest companions, and surrounded himself with children at his Neverland ranch, a storybook playland filled with toys, rides and animals. The tabloids dubbed him "Wacko Jacko."

"It seemed to me that his internal essence was at war with the norms of the world. It’s as if he was trying to defy gravity," said Michael Levine, a Hollywood publicist who represented Jackson in the early 1990s. He called Jackson a "disciple of P.T. Barnum" and said the star appeared fragile at the time but was "much more cunning and shrewd about the industry than anyone knew."

Jackson caused a furore in 2002 when he playfully dangled his infant son, Prince Michael II, over a hotel balcony in Berlin while a throng of fans watched from below.

In 2005, he was cleared of charges he molested a 13-year-old cancer survivor at Neverland in 2003. He had been accused of plying the boy with alcohol and groping him, and of engaging in strange and inappropriate behaviour with other children.

The case followed years of rumours about Jackson and young boys. In a TV documentary, he acknowledged sharing his bed with children, a practice he described as sweet and not at all sexual.

Despite the acquittal, the lurid allegations that came out in court took a fearsome

toll on his career and image, and he fell into serious financial trouble.

Michael Joseph Jackson was born Aug. 29, 1958, in Gary. He was 4 years old when he began singing with his brothers _ Marlon, Jermaine, Jackie and Tito _ in the Jackson 5. After his early success with bubblegum soul, he struck out on his own, generating innovative, explosive, unstoppable music.

The album "Thriller" alone mixed the dark, serpentine bass and drums and synthesizer approach of "Billie Jean," the grinding Eddie Van Halen solo on "Beat It," and the hiccups and falsettos on "Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’."

The peak may have come in 1983, when Motown celebrated its 25th anniversary with an all-star televised concert and Jackson moonwalked off with the show, joining his brothers for a medley of old hits and then leaving them behind with a pointing, crouching, high-kicking, splay-footed, crotch-grabbing run through "Billie Jean."

The audience stood and roared. Jackson raised his fist.

By then he had cemented his place in pop culture. He got the plum Scarecrow role in the 1978 movie musical "The Wiz," a pop-R&B version of «The Wizard of Oz," that starred Diana Ross as Dorothy.

During production of a 1984 Pepsi commercial, Jackson’s scalp sustains burns when an explosion set his hair on fire.

He had strong follow-up albums with 1987’s "Bad" and 1991’s "Dangerous," but his career began to collapse in 1993 after he was accused of molesting a boy who often stayed at his home. The singer denied any wrongdoing, reached a settlement with the boy’s family, reported to be $20 million, and criminal charges were never filed.

Jackson’s expressed anger over the allegations on the 1995 album "HIStory," which sold more than 2.4 million copies, but by then, the popularity of Jackson’s music was clearly waning, even as public fascination with his increasingly erratic behaviour was growing.

Jackson married Lisa Marie Presley in 1994, and they divorced in 1996. Later that year, Jackson married Deborah Rowe, a former nurse for his dermatologist.

They had two children together: Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., known as Prince Michael, and Paris Michael Katherine Jackson. Rowe filed for divorce in 1999.

Cardiac arrest is an abnormal heart rhythm that stops the heart from pumping blood to the body. It can occur after a heart attack or be caused by other heart problems.

Billboard magazine editorial director Bill Werde said Jackson’s star power was unmatched. "The world just lost the biggest pop star in history, no matter how you cut it," Werde said. "He’s literally the king of pop."

Jackson’s 13 No. 1 one hits on the Billboard charts put him behind only Presley, the Beatles and Mariah Carey, Werde said.

"He was on the eve of potentially redeeming his career a little bit," he said. "People might have started to think of him again in a different light."

2007: Jackson announced a comeback album was planned for later in the year.

2008: Jackson reaches a settlement with second son of the King of Bahrain over an approximately $10 million failed recording venture.Passes property deeds of Neverland to Sycamore Valley Ranch Company LLC, effectively losing his beloved estate.

2009: Jackson was expected to appear at a string of sold-out shows at London's O2 Arena in July.

Bhramaram

Bhramaram had given in high hopes when it was announced to be a Suspense Road thriller from Blessy and Mohanlal team. I expected the feel of Thaazhvaaram and Road (Ram Gopal Varma). I don’t know when the caption ‘Brutally Innocent’ came in – (I believe it was added at the very last moment of the film release) but the Hero’s definition goes in flow with this caption rather than the older ones – Suspense Thriller, Road Thriller.. etc
But the high hopes and expectations to see a suspense thriller flick as read from the posters were all put down and the film turned out to be a very lagging dragging long dull and disappointing one.

Story – A person is sent to juvenile home cheated by his friends in schooldays for a crime he never committed comes out from jail and does not go in for any revenge but stays peaceful and calm (does that reminds you of any other Mohanlal film?) He lives changing his identity but suddenly loses his wife and child because his crime is revealed to them by someone else. He goes finding his friends to reveal the truth behind the crime to his daughter and wife to prove his innocence.

The story lacks anything new, unwanted scenes like Bomb blast and rash driving, which I think were used to bring in the feel of a thriller didn’t quite work out. The story had no usual turn points it just went on and the ‘suspense’ as it was to be, could be predicted at a very early stage of the film itself. The scenes which were used to make the audience go into a nail biting reaction were very often used and so did not give in any reaction other than of “oh.. I’ve seen this many times before”. Blessy, a nice realistic story teller was found lacking his sense at many scenes throughout the film. In some scenes Blessy goes to the standards of Vinayan films & malayalam soap serials. Many dialogues seem un-filmy. The ultimate funny element is where you see the villain (so-called as per film) begins to sing a friendship song for you. You can predict the scenes and dialogues before hand and that’s not expected from any Suspense thriller.

It would have been a nice film if the story was told as an action film as there is very little scope for suspense in it.

The Cast - Mohanlal, the exceptionally talented versatile actor has done his role very naturally as in his every movie, but in many scenes he reminds us of thanmatra.

The heroine bhoomika Chawla was good only for the glamour show, may be that will bring in some crowd.
Lakshmi gopalaswamy is good for the role and goes in with the flow as in many other recent mohanlal films (well that’s our lalettans personal life, we needn’t interfere in it: P  ) Sukumari has nothing else but to do the crying mother of the hero.

The villain is also ok. But the second villain guy who played a doctor seems out of pitch in some scenes, but he also goes with the flow.

The child artist who played Heroes daughter was real pathetic, and the dubbing also seemed very down rated. I don’t find fault with the inexperienced innocent child, but with the talented professional experienced Director and his crew.

The only thing that’s good in the lot are the excellent songs and Re-recording (Background music score) by Mohan Sithara and the camera done by Ajay Vincent

The theatre atmosphere never looked like first day of Mohanlal release and the crowd that came out of the theatre had a lazy tired and weird look just like coming out from some Adoor’s award movie.

അരണ്ട വെളിച്ചം, അടുത്തെങ്ങും ആരെയും കാണാനില്ല…

പേടിപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന നിശബ്ദത…. ചീവീടുകളുടെ ശബ്ദം മാത്രം DTS സൌണ്ടില്‍...

ഞാന്‍ ചുറ്റിലും നോക്കി.

ഒരു നിലയില്‍ ഡ്രാക്കുള . അതിന് മുകളില്‍ Jekyll and Hyde, അതിനും മണ്ടേല്‍ Frankenstein…

അങ്ങനെ നിര നിരയായി ഓരോരോ നിലകളില്‍ ഇരുന്നു താഴേക്ക്‌ എത്തി വലിഞ്ഞു നോക്കി ഇരിക്കുന്ന അവരുടെ ഇടയില്‍ കൂടി ഞാന്‍ നടന്നു.

എന്റെ ചുറ്റിലും നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകളുടെ പൊടിയും പിടിച്ചു stuff ചെയ്ത മമ്മിയെ കണക്കു അടര്‍ന്നു വീണു തുടങ്ങിയ പുസ്തക ലക്ഷങ്ങള്‍ !!!

വലിയ വായനശാല, തൊട്ടാല്‍ പൊടി പറക്കുന്ന അവിടെ ഇരുന്നു ചിലര്‍ പുസ്തകങ്ങള്‍ വായിക്കുന്നു, ചിലര്‍ കാര്‍ന്നു തിന്നുന്നു, ഞാന്‍ മുന്നോട്ടു നടന്നു....

പുസ്തകങ്ങളുടെ മറവില്‍ ഒരാള്‍ ഒമര്‍ ഖയാമിന്റെ പ്രിയസഖിയുമായി ലൈന്‍ അടിക്കുന്നു, വേറൊരാള്‍ പമ്മന്റെ "കമ്മലുമായി" അല്പം ചമ്മലോടെ എന്നെ നോക്കി ഇളിച്ചു അത് കണ്ടു പേടിച്ചു മുഖം തിരിച്ച ഞാന്‍ കണ്ടത് ഒ ചന്ദുമേനോന്റെ ഇന്ദുലേഖയുമായ് ഒരാള്‍ ഒരു മറവിലേക്ക് നീങ്ങുന്നതാണ്, ഇനിയും എന്തൊക്കെ കാണേണ്ടി വരും എന്ന് ചിന്തിച്ചു ഞാന്‍ മുന്നോട്ടു നീങ്ങിയപ്പോ എന്നെ തള്ളിമാറ്റി ഒരാള്‍ അതി വേഗത്തില്‍ ഒരു കയറും കൈയില്‍ വച്ചു ഫാന്‍ ലക്ഷ്യമാക്കി നടന്നു പോയി, അയാള്‍ എന്തേലും അവിവേകം കാട്ടുമോ എന്ന് തിരിഞ്ഞു നോക്കിയപ്പോള്‍ അയാള്‍ ആ ഫാനിന്റെ മൂട്ടില്‍ ചെന്നു കയര്‍ (തകഴിയുടെ) തുറന്നു വച്ചു വായന തുടങ്ങി .അതിന്ടുത്തൊരാള്‍് ഡ്രാക്കുള്യെയും ശകുന്തള്യെയും ഒരുമിച്ചു കെട്ടിപിടിച്ചു കിടന്നു ഉറങ്ങുന്നു....വൃത്തികെട്ടവന്‍ !!!

ഹൂ horrible... .ഒരു Urban legend ഷൂട്ട്‌ ചെയ്യാന്‍ പറ്റിയ സിറ്റുവേഷന്‍.

തൊട്ടാല്‍ ആസ്ത്മ പിടിച്ചാലോ എന്ന് ഭയന്നും പുസ്തകങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് പുറകില്‍ സ്വൈര വിഹാരം നടത്തുന്ന ഇഴ -ഹിമ്ശ്രജന്തു സമൂഹത്തിനെയും ഞാനായി ശല്യപ്പെടുത്തണ്ട എന്നും കരുതി അല്പം സൂക്ഷിച്ചു ഭയത്തോട് കൂടി എന്റെ സുഹൃത്തിനെ കാത്തു ഞാനവിടെ നിന്നു.

അപ്പോഴാണ് എന്റെ കണ്ണില്‍ അത് ഉടക്കിയത് “ഹസ്തരേഖ ശാസ്ത്രം ”.

ഹൊ .. എന്തോരോക്കെ അപ്പോ... ഈ എഴുതി വചേക്കണത് അന്ധവിശ്വാസങ്ങ്ള്‍്സ് .

ഓ ... എന്നെ കുറിച്ചു ഞാന്‍ പറയാന്‍ മറന്നു, ഞാനൊരു നിരീശ്വരവാദിയാണ്. ഇന്നേ വരെ ഞാന്‍ ഒരു അമ്പലത്തില്‍ അറിയാതെ പോലും എത്തി നോക്കീട്ടില്ല ...

പിന്നെ ചിലപ്പം ഈ പരീക്ഷ ആകുമ്പഴും ലോട്ടറി ടിക്കറ്റ്‌ എടുക്കുമ്പോഴും വേറെ എന്തേലും സങ്ങടം ഒള്ളപഴും മാത്രമെ ഞാന്‍ ഈശ്വരനെ വിളിക്കാറും വഴിപാടു നടത്താറും ഒക്കെ ഒള്ളു......ആ കാര്യത്തില്‍ ഞാനൊരു പക്കാ കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് ആണ് ....

ആ അത് കൊണ്ടു തന്നെ ശാസ്ട്രീയമല്ലാത്ത ഇത്തരം ശാസ്ത്രങ്ങളെ എനിക്ക് ഫയങ്കര പുച്ഛം ആണ്.

“ഡാ കുറേ നേരമായോ വന്നിട്ട് ?”

“ഹൊ .. പേടിപ്പിച്ചു കളഞ്ഞല്ലോടെയ് ”

“ങ്ഹാ .. ഹസ്തരേഖ ശാസ്ത്രം.. അപ്പൊ ഇതൊക്കെ വായിച്ചു തുടങ്ങിയാ മ്മ് ? കല്യാണം കഴിഞ്ഞു ഒരു കൊച്ചായപ്പോ വിശ്വാസങ്ങള്‍ ഒക്കെ വന്നു തുടങ്ങിയാടെയ് ങ്ങേയ് ഹി ഹി ഹി “

“ഹി ഹി ഹി… അത് ശെരി ആണ് ബട്ട്‌ എനിക്ക് ഇതേ നോക്കാന്‍ അറിയൂ ഹി ഹി ഹി … ഡാ നിന്റെ ഈ കൈയിലെ വശത്ത് ചെറു വിരലിനു താഴെ ഉള്ള വര ഇല്ലേ? അതാണ്‌ എത്ര കുട്ടികള്‍ ഉണ്ടാകും എന്ന് അറിയാനുള്ള രേഖ, കട്ടി ഉള്ള ഒറ്റ രേഖ ആണ്‍കുട്ടി, കട്ടി കുറവാണേല്‍ പെണ്‍കുട്ടി ..

4 പെഗ് അടിച്ച് 4 വീലില് ഞാന്‍ വീട്ടിലെത്തി, പയ്യെ താക്കോലെടുത്ത് കതകു തുറന്നു കയറി ..

മോളും മിനിയും ഉറക്കം ആയികാണും

ബെഡ് റൂമിലെ ലൈറ്റിന്റെ വെട്ടത്തില്‍ ഞാന്‍ മോളെ നോക്കി, അവള്‍ നല്ല ഉറക്കം.

മിനി കണ്ണുകള്‍ക്ക്‌ മീതെ കൈ വച്ചു ഉറങ്ങുന്നു, വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ പുറത്തു ആയതു കൊണ്ടാണോ എന്തോ അറിയില്ല അവള്‍ നല്ല സുന്ദരി ആയരിക്കുന്നു … bootiful lady

ഇനി എങ്ങാനും വീട് മാറിപ്പോയോ ?

ഞാന്‍ ഒന്നു കൂടി നോക്കി .. ഏയ് ഇല്ല അതവള … തവള തന്നെ

അവളെ വിളിക്കാനായി തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോ ആണ് ഞാന്‍ അത് കണ്ടത്.. ആ നേരിയ വെളിച്ചത്തിലും വളരെ വ്യക്തമായി ഞാന്‍ അത് കണ്ടു

ങേ !!! ഈശ്വരാ….. നീയും എന്നെ തേച്ചോ !!! ഞാന്‍ തേക്കപ്പെട്ടോ….?
